This afternoon we popped down to the Bluebell Railway for the Southern at War Weekend. It was great seeing so many people making the effort and dressing up in period costumes. On arrival we were greeted with a fly past from a Spitfire. It was a great display and certainly helped you to imagine what life would have been like back in the 1940’s during the war and that distinctive noise of the Merlin engine as they headed to the coast.
