Over the past couple of years Brookfield Barn has become one of the most popular wedding venues in Sussex. It was fantastic to be heading back for the Wedding of Emma & Jamie. I had the pleasure of photographing Emma’s sister’s wedding a few years back and it was great seeing some familiar faces on the day.
With Jamie being a policeman it was great that one of his friends and colleagues had delivered the groom in a 1980s Rover police car. The ceremony was held in the beautiful barn which is situated next to the lake. The large doors at the end of the barn allow light to flood in which is perfect for natural light images.
After the ceremony we had a surprise visitor, Mr Milborrow the chimney sweep and his cat. The is an old tradition where it is good luck for the bride to be kissed by a chimney sweep on your wedding day. This is a fantastic tradition and my wife was lucky enough to enjoy a kiss from Mr Milborrow at my wedding back in 2013.
Throughout the day I was greeted with the great sense of fun from all the guests and even the lack of doughnuts from the official supplier for the cake could not dampen the fun nature of the day. After the speeches the guests were treated to laser pigeon shooting across the lake with an eventual shoot off between the three best shots.
After being teated to a stunning sunset it was time to head into the barn for the first dance an the evening shenanigans. A fantastic day was had by all. Please enjoy a small selection of images from the day below.
